Chalo us samt chaltay hain

I dedicate this poem  to Pakistan, India, and the people of these countries who are weary of all the problems, violence, and hope to live in peace and want to work for it too.  This poem is written by me and Noor Mohammad (also a member of Paksitan Desk), instantly while chatting, its developed from a conversation to a Poem….

Utopian but Hopeful

“chalo us samt chaltay hain
jahan wehshat nahi rehti

wo aasman kahan hai
waisi zameen kaha?

shayad kitabon mein, khayalon mein
sawalu mein, hawalu mein, misalu mein
buhot dhoonda buhot chaha
par milti nahi
kahi mil jaaye wo dharti jaha
wo aasma(n)
Jahan aflas, na ghurbat
jaha per khoon, na nafrat
na jung na vehshat

khudaya aisi basti kis jaga hogi?

mujhay lay chal wahan aaj
meray kuch khuwab sach kar de
unhe haqeeqat se rubaru kar de
muhabbat rooh mein bhar de
insaniyat sabko nazar kar de
faqat insan baqi ho
faqat eman baqi ho
khuda ki shan baqi ho

na koyi bhook say mar jaye
na koyi pyas say bilkay
sukoon - e - jan baqi ho
khuda ki shan baqi ho

faqat insan baqi ho
faqat emaan baqi ho”

  1. This is such an excellent poem. You put the words and your thoughts in such a nice way, Soumya.

    shayad kitabon mein, khayalon mein
sawalu mein, hawalu mein, misalu mein

Love that, as it merely describes your efforts for peace between both countries.

I wish both countries, India and Pakistan, come real close to each other. If the government of both countries can’t do anything, at least the common men from both sides of the border should always keep this cause alive. The more there would be common men’s interest - from both sides of the border - for peace, the more there would be the chances to get more and more close, besides officially too.

Together, we could make the Asian region so strong, and further could play the part to contribute positively in global path.

  2. :) thanks for liking it :)

you are right the lines of the poem purely represent the fact that the problems between our nations are so strained that we can only think of peace and friendly relations in books and our dreams…
All we can do is only hope and if not big atleast make honest move in its direction

  4. Whoever yearns for peace , prosperity and welbeing of human kind must be praised and engouraged, but I dont find suitable words which this beutiful poem deserves.Sincere and true feelings emerge from heart which likewise land into hearts of the readers.
My country is in the grip of brutality, my brothers, sisters, and children are being slain indiscriminately,May God Help us, save us , save our country.
    Basharat.
